After returning to the barn I then tallied up the bird count received the hunters license information and recorded in a book for TPWD and ranch records then plucked, cleaned and packaged the birds for freezing. I then helped the hunters load up their luggage and wished them on their way and expressed my appreciation for their time to come out and enjoy a good hunt.

4-C Crumley Ranch:
(Ranch hand/foreman/Hunting guide) 1999 I have worked cattle and guided hunts on my family's ranch since I was nine years old. Cattle work consisted of bringing cattle to the working pens (some on horseback), running cattle through the shoot for branding, inoculations, ear tagging, and calf recording and general animal health. I also set out both round and square bales along with range cubes and sweet feed for the cattle during the winter months. During the calving seasons I worked to monitor mother cows particularly first time heifers for any complications during birth and on many occasions had to pull calves and bottle feed if the mother suffered problems with the birth or rearing of the calves. I also rotated bulls to assure proper genetics and breed lines along with recording births and sires to assure the most profitable calf operation. My foreman work was mainly for seasonal workers and assigning duties for them to keep the ranch well maintained. My hunting guide work consisted for scouting, scoring, and caping and quartering for hunters, this started when I was only 10 and has continued since then on a convenience basis for me. I have also guided turkey, varmint, and dove hunts.
